If you're a skilled accountant and enjoy solving complex problems, Robert Half Finance is currently looking for a talented Staff Accountant to join their team on a full-time basis. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This company, based in the Columbia City, Indiana area, offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded. Your responsibilities in this role - Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation - Participate in various department-wide initiatives - Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested - Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation - Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments - Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting - Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable - Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation - Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks - Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations - Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll - Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics - Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment - 1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience - Detailed and have the ability work independently - Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases - Competent with spreadsheets and databases - Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes - Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills - Account reconciliation experience - Proficiency in bank reconciliations - Knowledge of Microsoft Excel - Accounts payable experience desired - Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines - Self-starter and strong ethical standards - Knowledgeable of ERP systems

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
