Winding and Molding Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description
SUMMARY
Plan, develop, improve, and support existing coil winding and molding processes, including the investigation and evaluation of new processes. Identify equipment and tooling problems/concerns and develop countermeasures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
This position will work closely with Production Team Leaders and other plant personnel to implement Lean Manufacturing projects to improve manufacturing efficiency/quality.
Works as a part of a cross-functional team to review proposed manufacturing process and bring new products to production. Develops robust manufacturing processes to produce the product in the most efficient way possible.
Evaluates and updates tooling and work stations. Works closely with the Product Engineering Department on major design changes and new product development.
Coordinates technical activities with suppliers when introducing new purchased components and improving existing components. Reviews quotes for manufacturing feasibility and makes design recommendations.
Has an active role in Lean Manufacturing activities that drive continuous improvement programs throughout the facility.
Seeks out and learns about new technologies, evaluates uses of these technologies to help improve our products and processes.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arranges for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Effectively analyzes equipment needs and prepares thorough justification for Capital Equipment.
Documents product designs and processes, applies for patents when applicable.
Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Desire BSEE with mechanical aptitude or BSME, Mold/tooling Development/Improvement experience, experience working in an ISO-9001-2015 environment and possession of a thorough understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
ANALYTICAL SKILLS
Ability to utilize advanced mathematical concepts such as, standard deviation, probability, statistics, factor and regression analysis. Computer skills are required (spreadsheet, word processing, project management software).
REASONING SKILLS
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions where limited standardization or information exists. Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems and to deal effectively with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

This position requires occasional travel. The employee must be able to fly or drive out of town to attend meetings with customers and suppliers or attend training. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and to stand 75% of the day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
